Biography

Halil Sezen is a Professor of Structural Engineering in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Geodetic Engineering at The Ohio State University (OSU) in Columbus, Ohio U.S.A. He received his B.S. degree from Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey in 1993. He received his Master’s degree from Cornell University, Ithaca, New York, and his Ph.D. degree from the University of California at Berkeley. He is a fellow of the American Concrete Institute.

Research Interest

Halil Sezen’s research focuses on computational simulation and experimental testing of structures under extreme loads including earthquakes. He has been investigating collapse performance of reinforced concrete and steel buildings through field experiments and numerical simulations.
